Meet the artist,

Kayla Pearl Artis

Kayla Pearl is a self-taught artist from New York City whose art began as a way to survive. As a teenager dealing with anxiety, loneliness, and emotional chaos, she turned to painting as an escape. At 16, she picked up a brush and started creating bold, colorful portraits, a way to express what she couldn’t say out loud.

Her work is raw and honest. Each piece tells a story about pressure, beauty, fear, confidence, and everything in between. Kayla Pearl doesn’t hide her emotions; she paints them. Using acrylic paint and glitter, she creates portraits that shine with both strength and vulnerability.

A big part of her work is about female empowerment. Her art celebrates women, their power, their softness, their resilience, while pushing back against the rules that try to hold them back. She paints women the way she sees them: fierce, beautiful, and real.

Visually, her art is a mix of past and present. Inspired by vintage comic books like Archie and Young Love and the old-school glamour of Hollywood, her style is both nostalgic and modern. She also draws inspiration from artists like Andy Warhol, Jean-Michel Basquiat, and Vincent van Gogh, bold voices who made art their way.

For Kayla Pearl, painting is more than just a passion. It’s how she heals, connects, and tells her truth. Her work is a reminder that even in hard times, there’s still beauty, color, and light waiting to break through.
